It's taken me a long time, with many, many drafts. But I've finally pushed the magic button and published this on Kindle Direct Publishing. It says it will take up to 72 hours before it is available to download, but I can do no more for now.
I have to admit, it's exciting. But now I have a pile of work to do to market this thing. But I hope people will download it and I hope they will enjoy my efforts at writing this all down and sharing my adventures.
It would not have happened without the support and encouragement of a bunch of people, whom I want to thank.
My wife and kids for letting me write this nonsense and supporting me through life. Pearse and Seamus especially for their work on the cover. I owe you guys!
Johnny Liam McManus and James Campbell, my friends and travelling companions, who shared in these experiences. My parents for funding me throughout my life with both love and money and for introducing me to this wonderful and frustrating game of golf.
Greg Gagliardo, Caddymaster extraordinaire, for his support from taking me on as a newbie caddy to putting me up at his house last summer.
Rod Nawn for his insights, encouragement and editing help. A very talented man indeed.
John and Thomas Coyne for their very valuable feedback and ideas on redrafting and editing help. Two ex-caddies helping a fellow ‘looper’ and ‘newbie’ author.
Derek O’Gorman and Nik Pritchard, two past Shinnecock caddies who were able to furnish me with stories, quotes and photos.
And finally to all the caddies, loopers, bagmen at Shinnecock and indeed through the world, much respect to you all. Keep your Caddy Attitudes!
